I was running the trails and thought it would be a great place to fish. I did talk to one guy and he said there's so much pressure that the fish aren't taking anything now.

So anybody fished it lately have any information?

There's three ponds. The one closest to the playground has never given me anything. The middle pond has always had a decent supply of bluegills/sunfish and black bullhead catfish and I've caught several largemouth bass in the far pond beyond the baseball fields (as recently as about a week ago). Behind the wooded trails there is also a small branch of Denton Creek that is good for bass, carp, catfish, etc.

Follow up note on that, the central pond used to be better. There used to be a small wooden bridge that ran the entire length of the back end of the pond, by the "natural area". It was a perfect spot to cast from and a lot of fish hung out around it. There was also a beaver dam built up against it, though the beavers seem to have disappeared.

There are technically 4 ponds - one on the far west side that is apart from the others; moving from west to east, a central pond with a concrete border, a small mud-bordered pond, and a large far east pond.

My experience fishing here is quite slim, but I have had some success at the central pond and the far east pond. Both produced bass of equal size.

If you are really serious about fishing a place, such as Andrew Brown, the search feature is your best friend. There are already numerous threads about it with lots of good information. That's how I learned, at least. Good luck and post a reply with how you do.

I live very close to the "far east pond," in which I've caught several nice bass. Early season, I've caught them up to 4 lbs on a gold Rapala twitched on the surface and then reeled in fairly fast (several years ago). In April and May of this year, I've caught 'em up to 3.5 lbs on black whacky-rigged plastic worms. All-in-all, though, it's slow fishing.

Crappie are plentiful however when fishing with a slip bobber and minnow the turtles come in by the hundreds. I have pulled many of big crappies out of the far east pond in the past and never had an issue with turtles like I did last year and this year. They seam to have taken over. Caught many nice size largemouth as well. I just purchased a home that sets on the park and the pond that had the boardwalk sidewalk is 50 yards from my back yard so I will be hitting them hard very soon. The pond with the boardwalk had better crappie than the far east pond back in the day. The boardwalk collapsed and has sense been removed. I only hope the turtle issue is a spawning thing right now and that they do not come into my bobber when crappie fishing this fall like they are right now. Seems it has turned into a turtle pond....
