have you guys been bass fishing?
Not really trying to bust anyone on age but I hear a lot of advice on here. Some of it is very sound and some not so much.
For me it's been almost 40 years, 2 of my uncles fished the early years of BASS. I was immediately hooked and never looked back.

I've been fishing since I could walk my grandpa got me into it and I haven't looked back. but strictly bass fishing about 8 years,2 of those doing small tourneys and a couple invitationals and an open I'm only 25 but I don't think Age has anything to do with it. Considering 3 years I was on the lake two days a weekend and at minimum twice a week. This last year has been my slowest year lake fishing I would say since I was out a job majority of the year but still fished a texas team trail on Belton ,several workin mans and spent a week at fork this spring. My favorite thing as a kid was to catch crawdads in the creek behind my house then bring them to a pond and slay bass and catfish with them. The trick was to break off the claws and put a single hook through the tail haha good times for sure!

There's a kid I know at Tawokoni,Zach Starling who I could almost guarantee has more experience than a lot on here. Him and his dad Ken are great people! They put me on fish when I had never fished t-wok and I ended up getting 2nd in big bass at their club invitational just from listening to his advice.

Grew up on Brackish water(Salt/Fresh-Chocolate Bayou)so a Mix of everything was in play. I was obsessed with Bass in my early Teens (fished a bunch in Arkansas/OuachitasFor Spots, Smallies and Largemouth)and really got intense when I moved to Round Rock in 91'. Moved back to the Houston area(1997) and until about 6 years ago, when I moved to Lake Conroe, I've really concentrated on catching Bass only.(Still chase some Crappie and Bluegills too) So about 10-15 years or so. On and off. But I've been Fishing since I was 3 years old. I'm 40.

The learning curve is much smaller now than it has ever been. People share info on forums, websites, YouTube, etc. Still takes time on the water, but learning the game today verses learning in 1974 is a whole lot easier. Hence, the reason so many young guns are doing great on the trail.

For me it's been almost 40 years, 2 of my uncles fished the early years of BASS. I was immediately hooked and never looked back. I grew up in Groveton Brandon. Dad and his two brothers would haul me to every piney thicket and creek bed hustling up anything that crawled, ran, flew or swam.....Its how they made their living in their early years, I just naturally fell into suit. But bass fishing is what I always enjoyed the most. Particularly. after they started fishing competitively. I now have a place just outside of Woodville and fortunately I'm able to be on the water around 3 days a week while working on my retirement castle I hope to be enjoying in the next 5-6 years or so. I plan to be haunting the big water on Rayburn till the big man takes me away .
