I know lots of posts suggest Dead Red. My question is are there any others that you would suggest? I have found another oil called, Menhaden. Anyone ever heard of it or used it?

I'm a big fan of the Katjuice, I only use it on frozen carp and buff though like to let it soak overnight before I use it. I need to order some more.

I have the kat juice and another one called lunker lotion or something like that. Got both of em from bottom dwellers I think, or could've been catfish connection. I can't remember. But they both seemed to have a made a difference at times used on bigger, fleshy baits. I use dead red more often than the other 2 tho. Not that I think it works any better, it's just the one that's always out handy. I really just prefer the days they are all over a big ol' juicy gizzard head!

People may laugh but the stuff does work
I used it back 20 some years ago when word first broke on it
Do not know how it ever come to play, but buy-gaawd it will get the whisker fish interested no doubt.
We used dry sponge cubes soaked in the WD sauce and boated several on more then one or seven trips out.

menhaden oil is good, definitely attracts catfish if you soak bait in it, it is the ingredient in most of the commercial cat attractant sprays that makes them work I strongly suspect.

menhaden milk is easier to work with than the oil...it is the oil, but emulsified so it dissolves in water. it's not cheap but since you mix it with water, a gallon will last you a looooong time. it can make a difference on slow days or with not so fresh bait.

a little goes a long ways and the smell is very persistent...if you get it on your clothes don't wash them with other clothes! ask me how I know...

best way to get the smell out of clothes is to hang them out in the sun for a few days, then wash, then hang them out again to dry! if ur lucky this will work.

Folks in south Tejas use ground Podgy for chum slicks to bring up the whisker demons.
Its where the menhaden oil comes from,"Voodoo Milk" as the "brah's"
like to call it down LA way is good for those in need of "crutch's"
or just a better time on the water.

Just ask TC whats in the the red sauce smile

He's a chance to laugh. Several old times I've talked to swear by Preperation H. I got to looking and it has shark oil in it and I have caught fish with it.
