How many use braid or mono for crappie? I put on some 10lb.braid and use mono also. Tell me what you think.

I use both as well. Try the Bonehead 12 lb braid....use the high vis colors. Best crappie braid on the market, imo

I use both. I use the mono for casting in open water and around bridge pillars but use the braid in the spring around the stickups when fishing for crappie in the shallows. Braid holds up better around rock and wood IMO with less retying. PLUS when fishing during the spawn you may catch ANYTHING in the shallows.

Yep, I've tried almost all of them. Nothing comes close to this.
If you ever thought of trying braid, winter is the BEST TIME! thumb

Because that's when mono -really- gets bad with line memory, twists, coils and kinks etc.
Give it a try this winter, and you won't switch back come Spring! lol

15 lb braid, that way if you hookup with a largemouth you can muscle it in with no problems.

Do you tie on a mono leader or tie the jig straight to the braid? Oakenhawk

Either one will work. It's just a matter of preference. I prefer Stren 4 lb mono.

I have been using Bonehead mono mostly lately .....
but the braid that Bonehead makes is good stuff ....
I think in some cases braid is good
and in some cases mono is good
there are situations where one or the other may be better
