I have been using the eagle claw 9/0 10/0 12/0 hooks. Haven't had one break or bend and they do a good job of burying the hook before you get to the rod. I've caught several nice cats when I wasn't even close to my rods.

Thanks everyone for all the help. Brownbag I haven't had a problem with the eagle claws in the past just with this package this weekend. Not sure what was going on.

What is the WRONG way of snelling the hook? Maybe this is one of my problems also.

You can actually snell a hook backwards. Go thru front of eye first, wrap and insert line from the back of the hook when complete

+1 their 9/0 circles are sweet hooks.

+2 the 9/0 are great hooks for bigger baits. Use 8/0 Gamas as well.

Just like tom said.. I fished for a whole day and caught like 2 out pf probably 35-40 fish.. And they were hammering my baits bending my PA rods very good and just wouldnt hook up when id reel down many of thrown down rods hat stompings rock chuncking and cuss words later i talked to my brother smoky and swapped them around and it was like majic lol .. There are 100000s of videos out there on how to do it right but i know how to knots and thought i was to smart nd didnt need to watch a dumb video on how to snell a hook.. Cost me alot of fish.. Nvr b to smart to just double check urself with good ol youtube lol
