My buddy and I need some help on Lake Fork. We fish for our high school and we have a tournament on Fork this next weekend. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What school are you with? Me and my high school team were going to fish that tournament but we didn't have everybody registered in time. But drop shotting a banana yellow zoom trick worm works well on the edge of stumps. also Carolina rigging a lake fork tackle hyper stick on edges of stump fields. also there are usually some schooling fish under the highway 515 bridge, hit them with a scrounger head fluke.

+1 on crigging or trigging a Lake Fork Tackle hyperstick in and around stump fields.

Fished Fork 4 days sunup to sundown this week with son. Between us we only had 2 decent black bass as we don't care fishing for the undersized bass used for all the tournament weigh-ins.

Talked to several frustrated anglers on water and each of their results were just about as bad.....Fork has very low waters, docks with no access, is missing most all of its grass and is just not fishing like the lake it used to be for us. Saw guides that were moving spot to spot just search ing for a bite. So we ditched Fork and went 5th day to Twok and were able to quickly hook up with good sized LM bass on dam.

Good luck in your tournament.

It can be tough. Our area didn't pan out for our HS kids. We had been on a 7-9 stringer of unders for a while. Cold fronts and Florida Bass don't go together.

This time of the year, use your graph, go deep, find the bait fish and throw some spoons and flukes with weighted hooks. If you hook up a yellow bass or white bass don't be in a hurry to reel it in, I've seen too many big bass hit yellows and whites on the way up.

The consistent bite is deep this time of the year.

Only problem with your theory is that if a bass hits a yellow bass, white bass or a crappie while you are reeling it in, it's illegal and must be released.

Txduckhunter, I am going to release them anyway so that doesn't matter to me.
