Use the search tool bar to find the hundreds of debate threads over this. Very helpful information and should answer all pros/cons you may want answered.

I don't know what could be the disadvantage with a PP, some folks claim because they are hydraulic, is that not what your tilt and trim use ?

I've had experience with both Talons and Power Poles and I would definitely give the nod to the Power Poles.

I've only had two problems with my 10ft PP's and after a phone call to PP it was only a few days that the problem was corrected. They have the best costumer service and their product are rock hard.

I have talons. Both my buddies have poles. I can tell you the talons hold better in rougher water. However I think talons use more of the battery life than poles do. Talons are quieter than poles as far noise produced going in and of the water. Durability I would say poles win this easily. If I were to buy them over again I would still get talons but it would be the 12' models coming soon.
With that said both are prone to fail. I have seen both buddies new poles fail and I have seen talons fail.(not mine) not yet anyways.
They are worth the money they cost also. At 2least to some degree.
My last trip to Fork I was getting my rods out the boxes when I hooked my self on sexy dog. It hooked me good to right in the finger. I had to push it out and cut it off. I deployed the talons and we drifted in. Sopped in about 8' water and I got my self unhooked. My partner never even noticed I was hooked till I was cutting the barb off.. Lol.. Talons were nice then.. The wind or boat wake is why I got hooked in the first place.
