Hi All,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm very familiar with the LMF. I fish in the park quite a bit and make it down to zone 2 regularly. My questions is in regards to Zone 3, or even past the 70 bridge boundary of zone 3. I have some property on the river a 1 river mile down from the bridge. Does anyone know if the trout make it that far down the river during the winter months? Also, if anyone has fished the damn separating Zone 2 and 3 lately, how has it been?
Thanks in advance.
Rich

I have never fished for trout that far down, so I am no help. I was just wondering if you are planning on buiding on your land? We stayed at the River Top Resort last Christmas that should be pretty close to your area. This guy built his house and two to rent and then built a deck down by the river. I sure wish I had his setup. It was great being right on the water and his land even included the island that was in the middle.

I fished below the rereg dam this past Sunday. Didn't get any hits, but we only fished it for about an hour or so on our way out. I rented a cabin below hwy 70 this past summer as well. Fishing out of our kayaks, we only caught brim. Water was about 5 ft deep. We were able to wade across the entire width of the river where we were at. Lots of weeds on the bottom.

I stayed at a cabin below the 70 bridge with the wife last fall. I took my Kayak and caught MANY fish of all types. We ate Black Crappie (slabs) every night for a week. I caught a lot of small bass and some big bream as well. I did not see or catch any Trout that far down stream. It was fun fishing !!
I swear I caught so many fish that the water level went down!

Few walleye smallmouth and spots down there really wish I could remember what time of year it was not sure how the cold water affects the sand bass. I hit I late spring one time and saw a decent spotted bass cruising so took of the nymph to I was using added some 4x and put on a clouser. It was right below the rock garden cast out and the spot that had still been sitting there took of I let it get down a sec and it got hammered by a 16 in. Sandbass I stood there next two hours catching magnum sandbass every cast I don't know if any were under 15 inches I was tired when I left. Just can't remember the exact time think it might have been may.
