Hey Everyone-

I'm looking for some last minute fishing trips or guided trips or tournaments or something to surprise my husband with for Christmas. Ever since we had our baby a few years ago his fishing has gone to the way side and I really want to get him back on the fishing wagon. I'm posting here because he loves Carp fishing but he also love to fish for catfish. Thank all y'all in advance for the advice!

Unfortunately M'am we lost the only carp guide I know of to cancer this year.He was a true legendary carp catching machine.There are two tournaments each year here in texas but they both require teammates so that could be a tricky gift.There are some carp fisherman who have the talent too guide or may be guiding here in texas that I'm unaware of.You could team up with hubby in the tournament here in Austin for about $175 .It's held in late febuary each year.The ATC.

I'm sorry to hear that. Actually he had talked about going to the tournament before so that could be a lot of fun for him. I thought it was quite a bit more expensive than that though.

I just checked and it looks like for non CAG members it could be about $210 for a couple like yourselves.Altough it is a competitive event this tournament is about helping others to become envolved in carp fishing.

Doesn't August Wells guide now? Not sure if he's running a guide service but I'd try to get in contact with him. He'd be able to put your old man on some good fish.

Oh and we don't currently charge as guides - we just do this to help people get excited about the sport of carp fishing

Well man the offer is always open for any of us to help put you on fish. You could always come down and bring the wife. Family trips are fun and if she gets bored, there is plenty of shopping in Austin.
