With a Winter Storm Watch in effect and a "wintry mix" almost at our doorstep, it's the perfect day to tie a few flies. For me, it's several colors and varieties of disco midges.

You?

Tying up a few bastardized versions of a spanflex midge, probably a few globug eggs, maybe a few red fox squirrel nymphs. Gotta catch some trout this week while the weather is ripe for em!

Already tied up a tarpon toad, 3" sardine/baitfish pattern, and a couple clousers. Been wanting to tie all week, ended up working yesterday until after midnight, and have kind of lost my drive already today. Still waiting to see where the wife's scuba trip is going to be next year before I start tying up a bunch of stuff.

Hey Mick, let's not get too personal!

But, then again, I do have some tan foam spiders that are about the right size, just cut the legs off and...

Actually, NO. I tied a bunch of brown #12 flies on 1/100 jig heads with pheasant tail bodies and hackle, dark brown chenille bodies with brown synthetic hackle, olive green chenille bodies with olive synthetic hackle, and some chartreuse chenille bodies with black marabou tails. I plan on tying a bunch of #12 bead head wooly buggers in brown, olive, and black tonight.

I only tie the Purina Nymphs when we fish the stocked catfish ponds.
