Those Rios are sure fun on a fly rod. I sure do miss Texas especially this part of the season. I can't really complain too much as I have the Gulf about 15 minutes away. I miss my Cibolo Creek though. I am wary about wade fishing with gators around here in FL. I guess it is time to buy a a small jon boat. Great catch guys! I'm jealous of it right now. BAF knows what he's doing. I've seen him in action.

Thanks Guys for the replies. These are my favorite fish to catch on my Ultra Light gear. Both are some super fighters. They are also very good eating. Side Note: "MHawk82": It was always a pleasure running into you on the Cibolo and talking about fishing. Hope you and your family are doing well. You should also have a lot of places to fish on the fly in the state of Florida.(Give us a report in the Bluegill Section on some of your trips).

Nice catch!! Yes Sir. We are catching some big Redear on Dunlap right now. Dunlap has a very good population of big Redear and Rio not to mention some super nice Bass. The lake also has some nice Crappie. This latest cold front will have the Redear and Crappie pretty active.

Hi, nice feesh! Are those Rio's good table fare? Never caught one.
Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

Hi, nice feesh! Are those Rio's good table fare? Never caught one. First of all thanks for all of the replies! "Wylie Jeff": Rios are very good to eat. They are easy to fillet and are great fried or grilled. You can also bake em. "Coach Hark": Rios are a super fish. Great fighters on ultra light. They are one of my favorite fish to target. After this latest cold front they will be very few and hard to find until Spring.
