I have an 03 ZX225 with a 225HPDI, I am the only owner as I bought it new. Anyone that knows me knows I run my boat flat footed, that's going on 11 years, she still runs 70+, best ever was 74.5 GPS... My wife and I have fished in it for all those years, most years we fished 2-4 weekends a month, lately sine I am retired it is 2 times a month and she is still going strong... I slung a blade 5 years ago and had to rebuild the lower unit; but that has been about it... Keep your fuel filters changed at least every 2 years and plugs about the same amount of time and she will run great... Enjoy111

I have the exact boat. Bought it one year old. There is not much I havent fixed or repaced on the boat.
1. I had a major issue with prop shafts early on. Ultimately Tommy at Rockwall Marine helped me get the lower unit replaced on warranty, no problems since.
2. Control console - Many of the pushbuton control panels would short out requiring you to replce the whole unit. This also required dash mods that made the fix almost non-DIY. I did manage it with the help of a really good friend.
3. Seat upolstry - these seats last about 2 years until I found NINA. Its now been almost 3 years.
4. Motor - All work done by Rockwall Marine
- add the additional water filter
- Upgrade the water pumps
- skagg sits low in the water due the Skeeter low profile
potential problem loading and unloading boat off trailor.
5. Storage locks are poor - upgrade
6. Gauges are poor - upgrade

I have fished out of numerous Rangers, Champions and Basscats. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. The strength of this model Skeeter is the best fishing platform for a 20' boat. I have fished 3 - 4ft swells without the side to side dipping you might see from a boat with a deeper keel. Speed out of the hole with a 26p 3 blade is excellent. As Mark P said 72 - 74mph is average. Fuel consumption is the best. I have fished multiple 2 day Ts on major bodies of water not needing to refuel.
Now the negative is riding the waves. It is a ball breaker until your learn how to adjust the trim. The storage boxes are not as deep as as others, No ice chest, the storage box, livewell clasps need replacing about every 3 years.

Just and FYI - This is the best fishing boat I have ever fished out of.................IMO of coarse

I run an '07 ZX225 w/ HPDI225......quite honestly, I do not have one negative thing to say about my boat. I love it! It's not the smoothest ridin boat in 25-30mph winds, but is there one?

picked it up this weekend

the boat is in immaculate shape, only 190 hours with 95 of those at idle.

The previous owner bought it new and never used it I guess.

So excited about it I haven’t been able to sleep

Chris Hicks in Valley view with Fish and Ski Marine took great care of me

Thank you all for the advice

I have a 2011 ZX225 with more stress cracks than reasonable person could expect. Paid for the hull transfer when I purchased it from e original owner and Skeeter told me to go pound sand since I wasn't the original owner. Should've bought a Ranger like I originally planned.
