I would find the pad fields up north, they will be just stems in January. Throw a paddle tail swim bait, a blade and a light t rigged senko.

Men and fish are alike, they both get into trouble when they open their mouths

Past the car bridge you can run about 3/4 of a mile to the first tree line. Once you hit the first tree line there are no boat lanes either up lake or past the Railroad bridge into Smith creek. It just bump and grind past that point.

The lake is cooling pretty quick since only one power plant stack is operational during the winter. I was in water that ranged from 51 degrees to 68 degrees today. fish are still scattered with the high water but when found they ate well. Only 5 boats on the lake today. Thought I would have it to myself for a while.
South side has been consistent, but mostly smaller fish.(keepers)
North end has been tougher than years past, lots of thick cover that is difficult to access right now.
