Love how he says "unless at lake falcon, then use whale rope". Haha

I am guessing the inserts have improved over the years? I have a box full of them that will break 17# Floro. within 3 cast.

I am guessing that the honing process of tungsten has also improved to eliminate line wear?

Because of wanting to use the rubber peg-its, on the huge Mexico bass in heavy cover we have not tested this problem.

I do know that when I go to the store to purchase they are always out of the non-inserts and have the insert weight running out of their ears.

Stretching your flouro is a good tip too. Makes it much easier to cast. And squirting some of Donald Harper's worm scent on your baits.

I don't think I have had any issues with non-insert Tungsten.
I did experiment with a straight shank hook and snell knot this year.

I have found that in heavy cover unpegging in heavy cover does two things. It causes more hang ups and less of a detection on the bite.
