I launch my dads 223 champion there with no issues. Yes, there is a lot to be desired, but its convenient, and you can either beach your boat or tie up to the tires next to the ramp if youre launching alone. Water appeared to be a little low sunday and I watched a guy back his pontoon trailer off the back edge. Guess I've been lucky so far having such a long trailer.
But, Schumanns is a nice alternative and aside from the fee lots of people seem to launch there. Might be trying it soon and looking into the annual permit.

Schuman's! But if you launch from 35...here's my tip...when you're sitting in your vehicle look in your side view mirrors. You want to see a good amount of trailer in your driver side mirror. Trailer facing up-stream a bit. Otherwise you'll be unlevel. One fender underwater and the other sticking way out. I finally figured that out last weekend, and it was a breeze.

I cannot load my skeeter on that ramp without issues period. I have tried with 4 different people 2 that claimed they knew that ramp. For 5$ it woulda been better than the huge chunk outta my rubrail that ramp caused me.
The angle to get my bow up over the roller is near impossible to hit without either A going off that ramp or B leaving the motor to low and chopping the throttle and risking a prop hit.
Ive only come up on one other ramp that i have had this issue with and that was at Ute in NM

I've put in at the I-35 ramp twice (the first and last time). It's well worth the $5 at Shumann's to put in at a good ramp with a dock, and they have rest rooms, if you need that sort of thing. I usually fish by myself so having easy access is critical.

$5 is nothing to pay for a boat launch these days. Everywhere around here is 10-15 dollars.

I talked to teh guy who owns the property. He has upgraded the bathrooms due to all he traffic that now heads over there, he was wondering why the big increase,I mention that the 35 ramp has a bad angle and when loading and unloading and his place is a lil more secluded well it use to be.. He is a real nice guy!
