Buddy and I decided to head out to Tawakoni and give it a try for once, our home lake is Lewisville but we decided to venture out, and camp Saturday. Is the state park open for camping and is the boat ramp open? Any other Tawakoni advice is much appreciated. thank you all

Both are open. You'll have to call and see if there are any campsites left. Depending on which weather forecast you believe it's either gonna be rough or really really rough. I have no idea what to tell you on the fish. Be very careful if you don't know the lake. We'll be out there as well. Good luck!

Thanks, yeah i see that it is suppose to be windy, but we are going to head out anyways. So you think we need to reserve a campsite?

If you put in at the State Park you'll be in the right area to catch some fish. My buddy caught 30 blues near the dam last weekend.
If your camping and the wind is hitting your point you can probably do well bankfishing too.

Windy day saturday, ended up with 23 fish total.......mostly eaters, biggest went about 15 lbs, and got about a 6.5 lb hybrid. Fish were scattered, most of the fish we caught we found to be in the 20-30 ft range and also caught some shallow water. Cut shad and also chicken breast soaked in dead red and garlic salt was the bait of choice.
