In Dale creek area Saturday and large schools of shad everywhere in the afternoon 28 ft all the way to 8 ft. any suggestions on how to fish schools of shad ,I had no luck around them. Caught 3 fish from 1pm to 6 pm was better than sitting in front of TV even fighting the wind. All three fish were right against wood on SB. Thanks for any info.

The bass will be nearby generally a little shallower on a rise and can be caught on spoons of various types. Even in the timber. I carry a lot of spoons because the timber will eat them up no matter how careful you are. Last week I was catching fish and dragging them through the branches, 23'-25' near a creek channel was where they were. You can see them on down-imaging, but not on 2D sonar when in the trees.

Thanks. The 3 I caught were around 8 to 10 with deeper water channel close but not on the bottom, were at mid depth.
Are your bites on the bottom with spoons.

The majority of bites were within two feet of the bottom, but occasionally one would chase it on a real high lift.
