Fished Lewisville around Sneaky Pete's from 6 til about 10. Not a bite the 1st hour. After the sun got up, things changed. I couldn't get bit on anything slow, so I started throwing a Rebel T-10 minnow. Within about 20-25 casts, I had 4 fish, 3 dinks and a 3lber. But what was crazy was the violence they were hitting the lure with today. I catch a lot of my topwater fish on this lure, it was white originally but I've painted it so it's belly resembles either a snake or giant segmented bug. Fish seem to absolutely hate the thing. I've had big blowups before of course, but ALL FOUR of those first fish came clear out of the water when they nailed that plug. One of them hit it 4 times before he hooked up, the 4th being the one where he shot out of the water like a cruise missile. I think I set the hook on him while he was still airborne, lol. From 7 to 9 I caught 14, biggest was just under 4, most were right between 14 and 16 inches and were schooling. Small fish but it was very consistent for a couple of hours.
If you want some topwater fun on Lewisville, just cruise the marina with the TM til you see a little action on top. All I would see was one or two blowups, but each time I found fish I saw shad scattering all over with them. They were active, moving, and very aggressive this morning. And for what it's worth, most of them had very bright red lips too. I love fall fishing. . .

I was driving over the toll bridge on the north end of the lake around 3pm yesterday and about 300 yards from the bridge the birds were going crazy and the water was bubbling with a fairly large group of fish schooling. Sure wish I could have got into some of that.

I heard a few guys had close to 100 hybrids yesterday so that doesn't really surprise me. When those big schools of fish get going on that lake, it can last for a long time. I almost went for hybrids this morning after talking to them but decided against it. Glad I did tho. The lake seems to be coming to life. You could just feel it all around you this morning.
