I primarily buy the mini spinnerbaits, and have great luck on em

Actually, I hate to admit it, but I have NEVER caught anything on a fullsized spinnerbait...

my question is, does anyone else even bother with the minis?

and why in the world can I go out and catch em on the minis, and then tie on a full size and not get bit?

Mini's are great on stock tanks and such. The forage base in small waters is more like the smallish spinnerbaits. It could be the way you're fishing the bigger baits. Many believe you just chunk and wind it and that is not the case. Experiment with retrieves: slow roll, burning it, stop and go, jigging it and so forth. Don't try and force feed them what they DON'T want. Let the fish tell you how they want it. My fishing partner used to HATE fishing spinnerbaits until he saw me whacking 'em on it. He changed his mindset and now he never leaves home without it.

I've actually had the opposite luck. Ive tried throwing the mini spinner baits and have yet to catch one. Ive thrown multiple versions and still blank out. With the bigger ones though, i retrieve like manhunter said, i do stop and go, sometimes let it sink all the way down and then do a fast retrieve and etc. you just need to experiment with them .

I love the Johnson's Limit Getter. Great little spinner. Do better most of the time with it than a full size

When I build my arsenal of Tweaked Hank Parkers; I want to be prepared to size down or up to match the hatch and seasons.
- 1/4 oz. Fished in ponds and small lakes durimg the spawn.
- 3/8 oz. Fished during Shad spswn in dead calm water.
- 3/4 oz. My go to TOURNAMENT WINNER on big water.

All get the best tweaking parts:
- Copper Willow Leaf
- Silver Diamond Dust Head
- Skirts Living Rubber, Minnow scented, Hand Tied in White/Chart. Stripe, Blue/black stripe, Chart./White Stripe, and a few strands of Mylar Rainbow Flash.
-Each one will run with the discontinued Stanley Pro Trailer in White Glitter.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I've caught many a bass on a Bomber Mini Bushwacker. Don't throw spinnerbaits much anymore unless it's a 3/4-1oz. single blade thumper.

I have caught more bass on a 1/40z spinnerbait than any other spinner I used to make them and they were my biggest seller. When I quit making baits I kept me a supply of heads and a few components but I am now running short on those.

It just depends on the size of the shad for me. I've caught some gooduns on both

For me, it depends on the wind. If you've got windy conditions and some chop on the water, use something big like the Strike King Hack Attack. Downsize to The Burner if that is spooking fish. Otherwise I stick to mini spinnerbaits, unless the shad are looking bigger than normal.

I really "liked" the H2o's from Academy when they first started to make them. High quality baits with finished heads, great skirts and ultra sharp hooks. Last year they went with a different manufacturer and they are JUNK. What a shame. Now it's Booyah, War Eagle and Hildebrandts...

I only throw spinner baits around docks on cedar creek or lay downs that are to heavy for square bill or chatter bait. I have pretty much switched over to swim jig, square bill an chatter bait.
