Had the day off today so I decided to hit Grapevine for a while and see what I could put together. Needless to say, fishing was slow, so I decided to take advantage of the near glass water and chilly temps to see what the Skeeter could do since I'm barely out of the break in period. Had a full load with empty wells, and a half tank of fuel, and made several runs at 65.2-65.5. Ran down to the dam, and with the wind at my back I let er rip, and finally saw 66.2 mph. I'm running a HPDI 175 with a YAMA SS prop. Any of you guys seeing any better out of the ZX190?

I'm running a HPDI 175 with a YAMA SS prop. Any of you guys seeing any better out of the ZX190? You have a good setup. I have had mine up to 67.1 with a Turbo TXP 24P prop at 3" below pad. That was me by myself with empty wells and half fuel. Mine is also dual console. I normally run mine at 3.5" below pad to get better handling on the local river lakes. I had it up to 64.5 this last weekend on a short straight away. It's a rocket out of the hole lightly loaded. In the heat of the summer I hit 61-63 with both livewells full, a load of fuel, and my wife. Still fast but a slug out of the hole with this much load. My other prop is a Yamaha 25M. Only saw about 65 with it. The Turbo TXP 24P is the perfect prop to get the RPMs where they need to be and ride in that thin water. I think with 25 more horses this hull will hit 70. Just have to figure out how to squeeze out a few more from my 175.

I figured I had all that could be got out of the 175. In a few years when the warranty is out we may try to hit 70mph just for giggles

For me when my warranty expires I will do some performance mods. Change the reeds and tuner. Flash the ECU. Maybe the heads. Would be a kick to hit 70.

Motor mods will void my warranty. I read the initial post and had the same question. I read it as pushing it harder with what you got. Adding mods makes since though.

I think there is a little more in it stock. Running 5400 with 20-21 psi. Won't trim up any more.

Does your jack plate have a wedge between it and the transom?

I'm not sure, I'll have to look. What's the significance?

I should have worded it differently. I'm just curious if Skeeter still installs them.

I should have worded it differently. I'm just curious if Skeeter still installs them. My 2012 didn't have wedges and I haven't seen a 2013 that has them. I think the only difference between the two year models are the gas caps. The ZX190 has plenty of trim available. No wedges are needed. I use a digital gauge for my trim. About 65% is full trim for running. 85% is off the trim rods and on the tilt. On the analog gauge I was trimming a needle width past the 3/4 mark. 66 out of this hull/motor combo stock is really good. The Yamaha performance bulletin has max speed at 62.8 with two people.
