I just cooked some striper I caught yesterday. I noticed how large the ribs are on the big striper, so I cut them in to individual ribs and fried them. They were excellent, not fishy at all, and slid right off the bone. I had heard of people doing this with Buffalo Fish, so I tried it. The striper I did this to was 9-10 lbs so they need to be good sized, the 2 lovers weren't worth the hassle with the bones being so small.

That sounds pretty good but I don't think I not going to go there! That and I don't think LL fish get larger than 5lbs.

Talk about ribs, my brother stood in lines for 4 hours for some Austin's Franklin BBQ. He was generous enough to bring me home some. Despite not having any sauce (he forgot then), they were soft, juicy, and the tastiest ribs and briskets I have ever had! I'm hungry thinking about them. Any bbq place around town worthy of going there, 4 hrs wait?

I'll stick to the ribs lol. I just hated seeing all that meat go to waist.

Still thinking about those briskets!

Check out the lines...

More lines...

When you get to the end of the line, you may see this, OUCH!

It's gotta be the real deal when you have this...

I have waited an hour at Meshack's Bar-Be-Que Shack in Garland, not even close.

The rib cage meat is tasty, if you take a sharp fillet knife and start at the fat end of the rib and cut toward the skinny end of the rib cage staying just over the bones not a bad way to fill up a quart bag,btw we have done this with two # fish of all species.

OK, BBQ. I moved to Tyler area from the Austin area and there is only one place here that is equal to the meat houses in Taylor, Lockhart, Lulling, Austin etc...

That is Stanleys BBQ in Tyler. OK, they decorated it so that you think you are in Austin, and play straight ahead blues over the sound system, and have a nice outside patio, but the BBQ isn't a copy, it's original and good. Kudos also to Stanleys for bringing in musical acts like T-Bird and the Breaks (ck'm out).

You can't always eat fish, afterall.
