Growing up on my home lake, I always refered to our various brush piles by their respective nicknames.

We had the 'Twin Pines' spot, referring to the two trees my grandpa used as markers before the days of GPS.

Then there was the 'Dinner Hole', which we would hit around midday, just in time for me to eat my sandwich packed in the ice chest.

Perhaps my favorite place to fish was the '9/20 Hole' commerating the day my dad took me out after work and we limited out on the biggest crappie we had ever caught together.

Does anyone esle do this? I really felt like it made fishing even more enjoyable to me as a kid.

I have a few spots named. Not all of them but a lot of the ones that I fish frequently have some kind of nickname.

When I used to rent a boat slip it was called Prime Time. Bet you can't tell me what the slip number was!

I fish standing timber, so I name each tree, so that when one of us doesn't go fishing we can say we caught 10 fish off of the Barber's tree, or caught the big one off of the Garage tree. Most of them are named after someone that was with me that we had a good trip with.

It makes the conversation a little easier then having to say we caught 10 fish out of that old black jack oak tree at the mouth of Pilot Point cove near the old fence row.

Shane's Tree - My son - what a day! Must have caught 20 barn doors out of it that day - people sittin under the 922 bridge just a watchin us.

Fat Daves' Tree - Best Friend - I got tired of him crying why don't I have a tree named after me?

Greg's Tree - a real good friend
Nina's Tree - Best Friend's wife
Tyler's Tree - cuz
The Barber's Tree - named after my barber back when I use to have hair! He showed me the Texas Tooth Pic.

The Garage Tree - big ol bois d'arc tree that you have to drive up into to get to the sweet spot

The Cedar Tree - use to be my #1 tree
The Big Cedar - Got to be the biggest Cedar on RR
The Trotline Tree - it's close to our old trot line
The Catfish Tree - We catch catfish there too
St. James Cedar - Near St. James Hump
Charlie Brown Tree - Brother in Law - caught two huge bass - back to back there one July 4

Rod's Tree - good friend from the beer joint - he picked a tree out one day and it paid off with about 12 barn doors!

Joyce's Tree - a good neighbor - she tore em up and her husband caught none

David Holster's Tee - RIP he was a good neighbor

Jug Tree - #1 tree when I can find it - I've had some days that I have pulled 30 plus fish out of that tree. Had a jug tied to it when I first found it. Someone made it easy for me to find it, till they cut it off! Cut the tree off not the jug!

Every spot has a name, best name is Pole Dancer Point. We have to name them all so we all know where each other are fishing. That way I dont go fish a spot that another BigCrappie.com guide already fished. We normally claim an area and thats our area for the day. Its gets real interesting at times.
