 slow map on elite 7 hdi. need help

My lowrance elite 7 map loading speed is lacking. I can out run it at 35. And zooming in and out are slow. Will a puck gps help? Or is that why the elite is cheaper than an hds

Same problem here. It works great until the Navionics is switched on and it is then about useless. I downloaded the update and that did not seem to help any. I guess you get what you pay for.

How many trails and wpts do you have in your elite 7? Yes, the processor is not as fast as the HDS so you could see some lagging if you are zoom in to tight.

only have maybe 150 points and a bunch of routes but not enough to think that's what is slowing it down.

I keep nothing but markers on mine and its still super fast. I did get a update two months back and it seems great right now.

mine is having trouble locking in the antenna and now wont show depth on digital sonar number but reads the bottom great, any thoughts>?

I was out yesterday and deleted all the trails and that fixed it. There is still some lag time, but I can use navionics now. Thanks for the advise.
I lost the time display when the update was installed. I have gone through every menu item and can not add the clock to the screen. Any advise for that?
