I am going through the same thing with my good friend and tournament partner for the past 14 years. Just found out he has lung cancer that has spread to his liver, stage 4. Prayers sent as everything is in the good lords hands.

You know I'm praying for your family buddy. I can recall those days back in highschool at Cedar Creek like they were yesterday. I am so very grateful for the times he took us to y'all's lake house.

Kirk's dad lost his battle to cancer last night at 9:45 pm. I spoke to Kirk this morning and he told me he was there with his father when he drew his last breath. He told me it was very peaceful. No gasping no drama. He just stopped breathing and stepped into eternity. One minute he was here, the next he was standing in front of his Creator.
I met Kirk in 10th grade at Garland High. He was sitting across from me reading a Bassmaster Magazine in study hall. We started talking fishing and he told me about his folk's lake house at Cedar Creek.
His mom & dad took us to their lake house many times over the next two years until we graduated. We paddled his old johnboat up & down the cove throwing at the docks and brush piles along the shoreline. His dad would fire up their inboard skiboat and take us out onto the main lake to catch schooling sandbass before dark.
Those were good times. Life was simpler back then. I am proud to say I knew his father. He was a good man with a big heart. God bless Kirk's family as they navigate the next few weeks.
