With a little more time passed by, just wondering who's had a chance to run a Ranger 521C with a Pro XS and see what type of performance you may be getting?

Any new Ranger 521C owners out there? I'm hoping some guys have started to play with props and may have some feedback. Thanks.

James Caldemeyer talked me into going down to Diamond Sports Marine and picking up this 521C a little over a month ago (I was originally going with a Legend). I am glad I went this route. It's just an awesome boat all around.

I could hit 73mph pretty easy before the jack plate and power poles were installed. I still haven't figured out the best position for the jack plate and trim yet. I start getting a little chine walk around 70mph now. I just need a little more seat time.

Man, that is a killer looking boat!

What prop are you running on it? I've heard some good chatter about Mercs new Bravo 1FS but I'm not a prop pro. I've also heard some say the new lower units on the Pro XS seem to like to be up a little higher than the old style.?

Thank's everyone....I have the 25 Fury on it now but, I think I am going to try the Bravo 1FS soon. I need to call Mercury to see what they recommend for pitch. I think I will still be around 70mph with the Bravo (which is fast enough for me). It sounds like the trade off for losing a few mph on the top end will be worth it.

I think the prop does need to be a little higher now. I still don't have it dialed in though. I think I have the jack plate too low and the trim too high when I am going all out. I am getting close though.

My 2013 521(no C) with a 250xs with a 25p Fury and a 10" hydraulic jack plate starts getting a little squirrelly at 70. Surprised me for a Ranger. Need to play with the plate settings also. Nice boat. Congrats!

I have an 2013 Alpha 211 with the 250 pro xs and I have heard the same thing about the newer mercs like to ride a little higher. I consistently run 72 with no chine walk so I'm thinking I may raise my plate and she what she will do. By the way that is a good looking Ranger!
