I bought my Gambler with the thought I would spend almost every weekend in it. I may have put 3 hours on it since I bought it in April. Its covered in a storage. Is it bad for the motor to not be run for several weeks/months at a time? Thanks.

no, mine does the same, just stabilize the fuel and cover it. put mothballs in a plastic container with holes to keep out the vermin.
with ethanol you need to keep as little fuel in the tank as possible, only have as much as you think you will use each outing, ethanol only has about a 10 day shelf life (this is shorter than reality but boats have a much harder time with water than cars and trucks).

Thanks. I am hoping to get out soon, but that may be Mid-October. I keep stabil or seafoam in the tank all the time.

Disagree. You should keep tank as full as possible when in storage to minimize condensation & water collection in tank.

If you know you're putting the boat up for long term storage recommend you first drain/siphon as much gas out of the tank as you can and refill to top. Put the old gas in the car, no sense wasting it.

And ALWAYS use ethanol treatment/fuel stabilizer. I'm lucky from what I've read here that we have ethanol-free gas available. It's well worth the extra cost. I still add Stabil Marine and Seafoam per instructions.

I would keep it as low as possible. I would rather start with fresh fuel than old fuel. Just my opinion.

that works for regular gas, not so much for ethanol. within 10-14 days ethanol will start to separate and there is nothing you can add to it to keep it from happening.
by keeping it low you have less to separate and by filling up with fresh very low risk of engine damage.
ethanol also attracts water like a sponge, the less you have to attract water the less water you will get.
I also have no ethanol gas and it is all I use, have read up on the e-10 though since I may need some some day.
read the link I posted above.

if u dont use it I would start it up every 2-3 weeks and let it run for couple of minutes.

I crank it about every 2 weeks at home with a muff motor flusher. Run it for several minutes.

I noticed the guys from OK were not too worried about ethanol, they have more access to ethanol free gas than most of us.
I have the same gas in my '10 Xpress that came in it I think.
Stabil religiously, and run the motor every two weeks for a minimum of three minutes.
And , it sits a lot, I may have 10 hours on the motor.
With about half a tank of gas.

Guys-

Hop is the closest to being correct here. I have over 100 pieces of 2 stroke equipment (Echo lawn maintenance equipment), and I have been through seminars with Echo's best engineers and techs. They test the fuel at EVERY gas station that they stop at, and even though the decal says "up to 10% ethanol", they have recorded 20% and higher. This is absolutely murder to a 2 stroke engine, whether it be an outboard or a piece of lawn equipment. They tell me that gas is on;y good for 8 days before it begins to break down due to the ethanol. These same guys have ran tests on every ethanol treatment on the market, and the one that consistently works the best is B3C ethanol buster. I run this in all of my work equipment, and in my boat, I run B3C engine energy. Give this stuff a shot. If you don't like the performance, let me know, and I will buy the bottle from you. These guys don't pay me, they don't give me stuff for free, I just believe in their product that much.

'DCmac' must be an engineer or read what engineers write, rather than just trust what fuel tank test kit salesmen advertise on their website.

The safest E-10 tank is a 100% full tank having little area on the tank inner walls exposed to the atmosphere to collect condensation should temperature drop below dew point.

Most dangerous tank of E-10 is a near empty tank with lots of condensation and few Ethanol molecules to safely bond with the condensed water molecules forming on all of the exposed tank walls.

If tank simply stays above the dew-point, no condensation will form on the tank walls.

It takes very little condensed water to reach the tipping point of phase separation of an almost empty tank of E-10. Takes much more water to form and result in phase separation of a full tank of E-10.

Use the fuel in a stored full tank in a reasonable time period and it will never phase-separate and be safe.

Hopefully you can at least run it on muffs every couple of months while stored. Otherwise, fill tanks to brim and winterize motor.
