How did the H4L Jig stuff work out on the trip?

That load of fishing bling was awesome! But did it work... I can tell you the Pi-Xiu jigs caught the first two yellow fin on the boat. That is a sweet and compact jig. You still get the weight if you want it, just in a small package. They worked great. I'm sure others have stories and pics as well. Thanks a ton for the gear!

Will post pics later. Great trip. My 3 yellowfin and my 20 lb mahi weighed 186lbs for those 4 fish. Also kept about 10 BFT ( caught bout 20) Also caught a nice Yellow Tail Snapper. My first ever and only one on the boat. Caught all 3 YFT and Mahi on Shibuki! Thanks to Capt, crew and great bunch of fisherman that helped make this a great trip! Now bedtime at 2:46am

holy moly, I'm sore!!!!

got home @ exactly midnight last night. lotsa dang miles considering we were just 7.5 nm from international/mexican waters only a few hrs before.
this trip was quite different in that I'm normally "a day late" to the tuna party, but I honestly limited on YFT the first night over a total of my first 15-20 casts. I had 3 in the box by 1 am Sat.

I will post a full report later, after fish & gear cleaning
& house & daddy duties.

A note of interest. One of my fish had these two whole flyers in it ....

Great trip as always. I got two YFT on the H4L small blue swimbait, with stock hooks/rings. I don't know what it was called because it was in a clear package without a label. But it was a great bait. Would have had a third on it as well but for a broken line.

I fished one of the small poppers too, and really liked how it sat level with the water and threw a nice wave each pop. I didn't get any thing with it, but then again I switched baits a lot and didn't get anything more with any of those either.

Well, i have to say this was one of my best trips personally for YFT as well as just a great time had on the boat ... so much good food and conversation that the good fishing was just a bonus . i caught a total of 5 YFT with the biggest/longest taking the pot for biggest Tuna ... it weighed in at 71 lbs and change. lost around 4 due to pulled hooks and one line failure . all my Tuna were caught using a dark Komodo Popper. i also caught like 8 Rainbow runners using the rod I built so that was a great bonus as well . i also got to watch and epic battle with a "sword" on a jigging rod !!! needless to say i am whooped and i still have to clean all my gear and get this meat packaged and give away some to my friends...
so how many days till next years trip?

362 days to "TFF Once Tuna Trip"! (assuming same date, I guess.) I am already re-doing my gear.

Those are wingman stickbaits. how big were the tuna?

55/60 and 70/75 ish. Were you the one who donated the baits? If so, sorry I didn't get a pic. I was going to take one with the bait, but then I lost it on a third fish to a broken line.

Awesome trip guys I can't begin to explain how much fun I had great crew great people and some awesome fishing..

I eneded up catching 5 YFT (first 5 ever) 3 on kamdo poppers and 2 on a 75gr Flitz.. I entered the wrong fish into the big fish contest the last fish blew away my first fish.. Thanks for the help guys and putting up with a newbie it was great fishin with you all and I can't wait till next years trip!
Maybe ill have the soreness worked out of this right shoulder by then..
Ill try to some of the few pics I managed to take added on later but now it's back to work..
