Been here last four days fished mostly at night. Been fishing with a rubber fish glove on because my arm is broke and in a cast lol. Considering I'm part handycap it was an epic trip. Was hard to tie on small flys with the glove though. Now headed for two days of deer hunting before going back to work.

When I came back from Nam in 1970 my Dad took me to the White river below Bull Shoals for a float trip. I remember it like it was yesterday. Beautiful river with lots of trout.

Are you talking about the Taneycomo, behind Table Rock?

@ranger188 yes sir hill billy Vegas the least known tailwater of the white river system. I normaly fish Sunday night thru Friday morning to avoid the crowds. The last week of October or the first week of November depending on moon phase. The less light at night the better most of the big browns came from 1-3:30 am. It is peak of the spawn in most years browns trying to spawn and catching rainbows till you sick of them in the 14-18 inch range on egg patterns they are hitting the brown eggs as they lay. As for being one handed I couldn't even dreamed of this trip going so well. I can tell you one thing for sure if I had a dollar every time I was ask what I was using it would have payed for the trip. It is funny to see five guys drifting flys past a line of 200 trout and watch the fish parting like the seas as their flys pass. Then roll off in the middle and drift three inches before hooked up. But I am a firm believer in 10% of the fisherman catch 90%percent of the fish. I have long lost the good luck in fishing it is skill no matter how you slice it. Some of us have skills in different weather patterns and on different structure. Other than random giants by first timers and occasionall anglers consistency is skill. I have been there this time of year the last 7 years and have yet to have a bad trip thru mass floods with ten gates open and all. This was a section of fish that I was the only one catching any thing lol you can see fish stacked fin to fin sure they got a few fish in but they were all hooked in the tail lol kind of hard not to hook part of one in that. thinking about heading down to falcon for a few days now after I get back to work for a bit will really top off a great November.

Robert, thanks for your input. I'm going to Branson Nov.30th-Dec.7th. Several years ago the wife and I fished the 1st week of Dec. Had the river all to ourselves and catching fish on just about every cast. After about 3 hrs of non stop fishing, we just left them. Best trip in a long time. Thanks again.

should be a great trip ranger.if you fly fish peach eggs with a little flashy piece of shuck sticking out,of course tan and grey scuds, but most of all red and yellow soft hackles were really killing them in fast moving water.
