I am trying to remove a simple lift and turn bathtub stopper. There is no set screw under the stopper, there is no screw under the knob on top of the stopper, the stopper assembly will not unscrew. I cannot figure this one out. My other bathtub has a set screw under the stopper and it's easy peasy. Wth?

Have you tried unscrewing the knob from the top of the stopper?

see if you can turn it before lifting or it may turn after lifted and you just need to play with it till you knock all that pubic hair off it. grin

I have these same ones you have to turn it somewhat with the stopper as close to shut as possible.

Let me try again...you cannot unscrew it with the stopper open or in the up position it will just spin. It has to be closed or just all but closed anyway. Close it all the way then try to unscrew it.

push the stopper down firmly, then carefully twist counterclockwise while peeing on it.

Maybe calcified on there. I don't know taken lots off in my tub refinishing days. Can't remember them not having a set screw either under or on top.

Pee on it and the sawzall that sucker off.
