It was a gate getting stuck! Still lost a lot of water and as stated both the Bandit golf course and Logs Wood subdivisions got flooded pretty bad. Saw it on the news a couple days ago and also spoke with two game wardens. Side Note: Any body have any updated water and lake conditions on Dunlap?

Not much to offer but I went to Schumman's yesterday just to take a look and it was still chocolate milk. Really messed up my weekend fishing plans over the weekend.

i also heard that the gate got stuck on mcqueeney. dropped the lake pretty low for a bit. we drove over placid at fm 78 and fm 725 that morning and the water was running pretty good, but nothing like years past. the water does look nasty, but placid should be pretty good in a few days.

Lake McQueeney Lowered for Inspection Beginning, Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, Lake McQueeney will be lowered approximately 12 to 18 inches so that Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) hydroelectric crews can perform inspections of the dam following the flood event of Oct. 31, 2013. Crews anticipate the inspections may take about a week to conduct. The lake level will be raised to its normal operating level at that time pending the results of the inspection. GBRA staff advises anyone using the lake for recreation purposes during this time to exercise caution, because lower lake levels may expose debris and other potential hazards that are normally underwater. In addition, recent rain events produced higher flows that may have contributed to an increase of debris in the hydro lakes. Repair operations also may be adjusted or canceled in the event of adverse weather conditions. Notices may be disseminated as press releases to local media and lake associations as well as posted on the press release and lake management pages of GBRAs website: www.gbra.org. Information also may be posted on Twitter with @GBRATX and Facebook on the page GBRA of Texas. The GBRA was established by the Texas Legislature in 1933 as a water conservation and reclamation district. GBRA provides stewardship for the water resources in its 10-county statutory district, which begins near the headwaters of the Guadalupe and Blanco rivers, ends at San Antonio Bay, and includes Kendall, Comal, Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Gonzales, DeWitt, Victoria, Calhoun, and Refugio counties.

Anyone been to Dunlap or Placid? How's the water look? I went today. Water is getting back to normal. Not as clear as it could be but not bad. Still some debris you have to watch out for. I fished a little and caught a few. It was quiet out there so I enjoyed running the lake a few times.

Thinking of heading out Sunday heard the Schuman Beach Rd ramp is the ramp to use but no clue on how to get there. And with the dam inspections going on how tough will it be to get around on the water. I need to look out for any advice is greatly appreciated. Boat is 03 Skeeter ZX225

Becka...
If you come up 78 make the McQeeny turn off (left) follow it toward New Braunfels (aprox 5 mi.) you'll come over a rise 2 mi's off of 35. Look for Schuman Beach drive on your right. Follow this road (it says Dead end) to the "road closed" sign (1.5 mi) make a left then an immediate right. The private ramp is on your right. Cost is $5.00 a day.
If you are coming from 35 toward Austin, make the McQueeny exit, drive 3 mi's. You'll see a diamond shamrock at the bottom of the hill. Make the second left past that (a storage place is right where you turn left). That is Schuman beach drive.
Anyone who can give better details on these direction, feel free....
I would be out this morning but have to go to school instead. Yuk!
