I went to the lake this weekend to learn to fish a jerkbait. I have always had one in the giant assortment of tackle in my boat. I boated 21 fish none bigger than 2lbs but it was a blast and a learning curve for a technique I knew nothing about.

Sounds great would you be willing to share those techniques?

It was lake Alan Henry and the jerkbait was a megabass vision 110+1

The cadence was jerk jerk pause jerk jerk jerk pause the pause time was 2 seconds. My boat was in around 8' of water throwing in deeper water and all over the points I came across.

These are one of those baits that you can give to almost anyone, and they can catch a fish on, jerk pause jerk, changing the distance you jerk, and time you pause looking for whatever the fish want that day... easy to get the hang of, especially when you let it pause and a bass just wrecks into the lure at full speed... actually if you are fishing the longer three hook baits, you will notice sometimes your fish hookup when they just smash it and get tangled in all the treble hooks

it is the one with 3 hooks. I had one hit right at the boat and I saw the fish coming and to see him smash the bait as hard as he did. I had fished a jerkbait 1time before this time I will always have one tied from now on.

I had the same deal last weekend. I had five fish SMOKE a LC Pointer 78 in a perchi-ish color. It definately gave me a lot of confidence!
