Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I like to fish Galveston and Bolivar. Took my grandson fishing under the Galveston bridge causeway last weekend and caught some nice sand trout, whiting, and croaker. I would like to catch some flounder. I have never fished for them before. After reading this forum for the last week I feel that Seawolf Park may be a good place to start my training. If someone would please tell me where is the closest boat ramp to Seawolf Park I would be gratefull? Is it feasible to launch at Texas City Dyke? I have the hotspots boating map but its several years old. Thanks in advance for any advice and help you can give me.

Trying to post an image of my grandson Donavan and one of his fish caught under the causeway at night. Hope it works. He had the best time. Brings back memories of my father taking me fishing when I was just a wee lad. smile

...you can launch as someone posted previously...at the Galveston Yacht Basin. 24hr security so no one messes with your vehicle.

If you launch there head out slowly and as you look around you will see some concrete walls to either side. Pick one and fan cast from where you either anchored or anchor locked your iPilot.
After this front that is blowing in you might have some luck as the big girls like to "sunbathe" around that structure before they head out into the Gulf. This time as I have found out finger Mullet seems to be the go to bait. Go with Gulps and you are gonna have to fight off the Ribbon Fish....but you can ask the Captains on the offshore boats if they want some and they will buy them from ya!!

....Good Luck!

...so good it tastes like it died screaming!

Recommending him to sell any resource without having a Commercial license and then also a finfish or bait license also, will do nothing than get him a game violation for such. Why would you advocate an illegal activity to anyone especially on a public forum? Seems to show your lack of regulations and restrictions on yourself which are imposed on everyone regardless of age.
