Ok...I promised myself once I was able to get to OBK and pick up my NuCanoe Frontier 12, I would let you know how it went. I have ready a ton of info on these and finally decided to bite the bullet and get one. I bought the Lime Green (yeah-yeah, the wife wanted the color) and I was able to gather quite a few accessories at the shop and I was on my way.
1. Unloading was simple and launching was a breeze.
2. Since the wife let me spend the money she was on the maiden voyage and it was easy to adapt to the balance.
3. Getting to the marshes was awesome and I was able to pluck out bait and a couple of good reds and flounder. Excited...
4. Getting back was a bot harder since I misjudged the distance I had traveled. I guess a plus for tracking and speed.
5. Once we got back we found that the kayak was easier than my last one to load and tie down.
All in all, I am very happy and can't wait to add a outboard on it, I guess I will have to sweeten up the wife to get that one.
Anyway, the NuCanoe is great and I am very happy with it. I would suggest getting some sort of transport cart if you have to park any distance from launch site. I would like to thank the guys at OutBack kayaks in LaMarque for working with me and making sure I had everything I needed. A+ experience.
