I was fishing with a friend and we were on a good school of fish...I set the hook on a fish and when I did the rod popped right out of my hands and into the lake...the rod landed about about 6 feet from the boat and started sinking...I was like HELL NO...I jumped right in after it and grabbed it and swam back to the boat and then gave the handed the rod to my buddy so I could climb back in the boat...when I got back in the boat he handed me the rod and I landed the fish...LOL! We both had a good laugh after that.

Some of my friends were out chasing schooling bass one day...they would literally chase them all over the lake. They would make a few casts and then throw everything down and then crank up and go wide open to the next school of fish. One time the driver cranked up and took of before the passenger which was in the back of the boat could get ready to go..while crusing across the lake the driver looked over for his buddy and didnt see him so he looked back to see where he was...well he was in the back of the boat on his knees with both arms hugging the engine trying not to fall in.

I was fishing Ray Roberts and just caught a fish on a brand new Terminator spinner bait (when they first came out and were like $8 apiece). I retied the spinner bait and proceeded to cut the line to the rod (instead of the tag end) and promptly threw the bait in the water to start casting again. Picked up my rod and no high dollar spinnerbait.
Another time I was once again fun fishing Ray Roberts with two buddies. We were catching buzz bait fish up in Pierce Branch. I had one hit just to the left of a tree. He got me wrapped up in the tree and got off. I got the buzz bait off the tree and started fishing again. Another five or six casts later about a 3 pounder hit it and promptly broke my line. I had not retied from the previous fish that tied me up in the tree. That fish must have jumped five times with my buzz bait in his mouth the blade squeaking loudly every time. Every time it did my "buddies" would comment, "There's your buzz bait go get it" or some other comment. That was over 15 years ago and I still hear about it once in awhile.
To tell on one of my buddies we were fishing Tyler early spring many moons ago and he had to relieve himself. He made the mistake of stepping on my spring loaded ladder and ever so slowly at first the ladder started deploying. Next thing I hear is a big splash and he was in the lake. He climbed up the ladder it was early spring and it was cold. I think his biggest embarrassment was the fact I had to tell him to put his junk back in his pants!

I was fishing a club tournament on LL many years ago. A good friend of mine was just getting into tournament fishing. He had just bought a new skeeter a few days before the tourney. He had never fished Lewisville prior to. I invited him to fish with me but he wanted to run his new boat. He followed me all day. We were back in a cove, him trolling behind me as we fish a stretch of bank. All of the sudden I hear him screaming like a school girl. First thing im thinking "a hook burred deep in his hand. I turn to see wtf hes screaming about. Hes straddling his but seat...no hands or feet touching the deck. I yelled whats wrong..he screams back "S N A K E" in my boat.. it had climbed into the splash well, and onto the back deck..I try to troll over to him but im laughing so hard, Im trolling in circles..I finally get to his boat telling him to use your rod and flip the 3ft water snake out of your boat..shaking and scared to death, tongue tied he spit out the words "im scared of snakes, you get it out" I took a paddle and fished the snake back into the water, almost wetting myself cause I was still LMAO...

Out bass fishing with Mrs. S when the sand bass started hitting the top out of range. Put trolling motor on high and here we went. A stump had grown over night and the trolling motor caught it. Yeah it grew over night. I'd just fished through there the day before and it wasn't there. I did't even fight it---out the front I went. Mrs. S said it looked like the nestea plung forward.
 Good luck and safe fishin'!!!!

Watched a guy get on plane 3 times with his trolling motor down. HAHA Surprised it didn't tear everything off the front. On the 3rd time shutting it down he got up and raised it up.

I finally got my wife out on the boat (10ft fold up jon boat) for a day of fishing last summer... she would rather go catching than go fishing, so we were just trolling crankbaits behind the boat catching whatever hit em... well, anyone who fishes belton (roger's park specifically), knows that there is no shortage of submerged timber...
we came through a cove in a u shape route hugging the shoreline, when I realized that our crankbaits were gonna come straight through an underwater tree with just the tips of some of the sticks standing up out of the water...
Sure enough, they got snagged, so we reversed to go get em -- Both crankbaits somehow got hung up on one stick and you could see em both about 4 inches above the water. I told the wife to go ahead and grab the two crankbaits off of the stick while I tried to keep us right on that spot next to the tree (waves and whatnot were trying to move us away)
Next thing I know, she is hollering that the hook is stuck in her finger (with the other hooks still stuck to the submerged tree)... with the current, and waves we were moving all over and she was hollering and hollering... I was almost ready to jump out of the boat, swim to the sticks, and try to break off the wood so that we could unhook her finger, when she got it off herself...
So after that, I got both lures unsnagged, but she needed some time on shore to cool down a little...lol

I was fishing with the girlfriend and she says she needs to go to the bathroom (for like the 5th time that day) so I told her just try to go off the back as she has done numerous times flawlessly in the summer. So I convince her that there is no one around to see her. I get up close to the bank and im on the front deck and decide to make a cast while she was going (hadn't had a bite in at least an hour) so didn't think much of it. As soon as my crank bait hits the water a giant inhales it and with out skipping a beat I set the hook HARD. Well needless to say it was late Feb and pretty cold. When I set the hook I heard the loudest and most gut wrenching scream along with a splash out of the back of the boat as she lost her grip on the motor and fell right off the back when the boat shifted. She went completely under the water because she couldn't grab for anything else and her legs were useless lol. Luckily I had some spare cloths in the truck but the day was over.Learned a valuable lesson that day, that its way easier just taking her to the shore or to a bathroom. We still look back at it and laugh.
