Since you will be out of the mid lake you might also check with Jeff Buchannan and his backlash lodge. I talked to him recently and he also has other houses for rent around that part of the lake. http://www.buchananrealtyteam.com/p: 936.632.7700 There is not very much for the Mid Lake area. There is more at the south end but the FLW will be out of Lufkin. Rayburn Country at the south end has Condo's and a nice Hotel and Country Club. http://www.samrayburn.com/rentals-cabins

We just stayed at the Bassbuster Inn last week. For a motel on the lake I thought it was plenty nice. Thick towels, satellite TV, clean rooms, long parking spaces designed to allow leaving the boat hooked to the truck...
It's within walking distance of a couple of convenience stores and The Stump restaurant. It's also within a mile or so of both Twin Dikes and the Pavilion ramps.

Jackson Hill is pretty crappy. We just stayed there two weeks ago and we had a cabin- no TV, the A/C didn't work, the floor was filthy and you had to bring your own blankets as they don't provide any of that. $75.00 per night. Rip off. But hey, they have the market cornered down there. Grin and bear it.

Didn't somebody buy the place across the street from the road to cassell boykins? They were supposed to re-do the motel and store so if they got done it should be nice.

I just remembered Lakeview Hotel. It's not water front but it's less than 5 minutes from Cassels-Boykin and Jackson Hill. They renovated the rooms and they are clean.
Their phone number is 936-972-2102.
