I believe p,jldp said in the video that he was using a light braid. I will have to listen to it again.

Yup, he said light colored braid..I have not tried that technique , reelin the bait up that close to the rod tip..I was amazed at how far he could skip it..I haven't been any where close to that good using my baitcaster..
