Used to catch white bass on Oak Creek. Haven't been there in 20 or so years. I never see a mention of white bass on the TP&WL fishing reports. Are there whites in the lake? Enough to make a trip there doable?

Thanks krankb8. Hope we can get into some whites tomorrow. If you were in a kayak and limited as to how far you could travel, where would you put in and fish?

You have probably already gotten to the lake, but just in case. If you want to fish lots of Riprap and some brush, then start at the ramp by the dam. If you want to fish lots of wood and shallow water , then launch by Live Oak. If It was me in a kayak, I would go with the latter. Thinking about coming there tomorrow.

Sorry just saw this. Yes there are still plenty whites in the lake. I have had trouble getting into them over 12 inches... How did you do? The ramp by the damn is where I put in. Kayak or boat. The other end of the lake has become pretty shallow and it is a long paddle to structure more than 10 feet.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

We put in the shallow end. 2 of us caught one bass each. Probably not interested in going back unless the lake comes up maybe 5 ft or so. Thanks for the advice.
