Waded the concrete ship side this am from about 7-9:30. They were in there thick. Everybody seemed to be catching at least a few. About 35 waders in the water. I caught about 15 and half were too small. Could have kept a limit of 15 to 17 inchers but threw em all back.
Water was green with a fair amount of bait. All fish caught on gulps. Any color or style worked.
Thoughts regarding the myth about "waiting": Since I wasn't going to keep any and I knew they were running small, I set the hook as soon as I got that beautiful THUMP. Only lost 2. All were nicely hooked in the mouth except for one that swallowed it. Cut the line and let him go. I believe the catch ratio is about he same whether you wait or not. I would probably still wait with a big live finger mullet.
The next front should really get em going. Good luck and go get em.

....hit it a couple of times this past week and in most of my spots they are all small males. I have some spots right off the Intracoastal south of the Causeway and it was the same story at them as well. I'm not sure they are really going to get moving with this next front Thursday unless it really blows the water and bait out of the marshes. Too much bait in the back and with that going on there is no reason for them to move yet.
...so good it tastes like it died screaming!

There is an old concrete ship 1100 yards northwest of the fishing pier.

Looking back at my pics from last year, I got my first limit of really nice ones on October 19. All in the 17 to 20 inch class. This may not mean anything, but I will be going Saturday with very high expectations.

This is good news. Planning on hitting up the seawolf park wall next week then. Hope they're up to keeper size then.

Went today around 3pm there were people all down the shoreline prob 25-30, ended up catching 5 flounder dragging dead shrimp, only one keeper though, looks like the males are comin in to get ready should be only a matter of time now! Shrimp was out fishing the gulps I was using also, only got one hit on gulp. Still a good day altogether

Question, Where could I fishing in the seawolf/pelican island area that doesn't involve getting into the acual seawolf park and having to pay?
Thanks!

....was out in the Skeeter yesterday hitting some spots to see if any of my "big girls" had shown up to party yet. Worked the gut along the shoreline on Pelican just west of Seawolf and nothing but small males. Was in and out between the waders, but managed to cover lots of ground. Hit the walls to the west of the Ferry landing and same thing. Some nice Flatties to 24" showing up at some spots in West Bay so won't be long before they move into the usual spots. All the keepers caught on Redfish Magic bumped along and just above the bottom when the tide went slack.

I hit up Bolivar Sunday they were everywhere you could see them moving I got two keepers in the first 10minutes I lost three right on the rocks. When a few ships came in they moved the water and they were gone that quick. I was using a H&H speck rig pink glo and orange and yellow they were on them hard.
