In yalls opinion, what is the best reel for $50 and under. I know that if you really want a quality reel it should be more. Just curious though

I have bought H20 mettles every time they would go on sale for $25 (normal $50). Still have my very first one. I have literally caught big bass, catfish, ling, dolphin, and sharks with it. Too bad they have clearanced them out....

Abu Black Max isn't a bad reel for the price. May not last years but an inexpensive reel

I used the Black Maxes from Abu when I first started fishing. They aren't the highest quality but if you take care of them they will last a while. The flipping switch actually helped me learn to use a baitcaster. I've still got a couple that I use on rare occasion, and I clean and lube them just like I do my other reels. The mettles are good reels to and cant be beat for the price when they are on sale, but they are a little on the heavy side IMO. If you can afford the few extra bucks for Lews they are one of the best reels you can get for that money

Mettle has been good to me so far. I bought it for 30 bucks on clearance to see if I would like a baitcaster. It's pretty impressive for the money. Supposedly they are coming out with a 2nd model. If I didn't already have 2 nice spinning setups I would probably try a Lews next to see the difference. I'm happy though. This beats out the 60 dollar shimano my stepdad bought last year by a ton.

Used Citica E, may have to go $60-70 though.
