A Boat. It helped tremendously. Right after that was a fishing rod.

I had always used a cheap non color graph with no mapping capability.
Recently bought and Elite 7 HDI with down scan, a Point 1 GPS antenna and Navionics Premium map chip and wish I would have done this a long time ago.

I've only been fishing since July and I fish from shore. Best accessory I've purchased has been a pair of Boga grips. Use them to grab and weigh fish (of course), to help with removing gut hooks, and for pulling on my braid line when I've gotten my lure stuck in cattails or whatever.
