Has the lake turnover finished up yet? Thinking about heading down this weekend.

Saw a bunch of the brown bubbles mid lake but the smell has past.. I heard of a deep bite re-starting. We caught a bunch of fish but avoided anything more than 8'. Cant wait to get that fall bite going in the next few weeks. Last year was the longest turnover I have ever seen there. Hope for a stable water column by the next full moon which is about like last year

Turnover is done throughout Texas reservoirs unless the waters are well over 60 feet deep.
Some get confused on what was the lake turnover and what is now just the result of several days of cloudy days causing a sudden die off of the plant life in the water column. They see changes long after turnover is done in the water caused not by lake turnover, but by the resultant very low levels of dissolved oxygen and high CO2 levels as the bacteria count surges feasting on the large die off of summer plantlife not getting any sun. Fishing slowed as the bass are lethargic being out of breath so to speak and won't chase a bait far. Fork did not see the sun for almost a week and just needs some days of sun and winds to get the deeper lake levels remixing with dissolved O2 levels at the surface .
