Wanting to upgrade my crappie gear. Looking for something in the $50 to $100 range. One piece, 7' +/-. Just digging for some stuff to look at. All my spinning tackle is ancient and really need to invest in 3 or 4 new ones for my son and I. Top pick reels also appreciated.

St Croix spinning rod TRS70MLF Cabelas I have 2 of these and they are great. $80 I also have 2 of the Premier series at $110 PS70MLF. I can't tell the difference in the 2.

I also use ProAngler rods but they are 2 piece and 8' long.

I haven't got my hands on a Bonehead rod yet but I probably will someday.

I would go with a Pro angler or a Bonehead. I have a couple of BnMs, a BP Crappie Max, and a Pro Angler, and the Pro Angler is always the one I go to. I haven't got my hands on a Bonehead yet. I have been holding out on an 8' or preferably a 10' Bonehead. I like for jigging, a baitcast reel.

Hey guys i just wanted say thanks. The new 8 foot and 10 foot we are still working on. We want to make sure the balance is right where needs to be. May take little longer then we thought.

If you want to stick with a 7' rod, Bonehead is the way to go & Josh has then for a reduced price I think. If you're looking at going longer, like 8' or even 10' or 12', you'll never do better than Pro Angler IMHO. I have 3 of the 8'ers and 1 10' and they're all great. I love the 8' for any situation.

Get the St Croix, and you won't need anything else. Once you fish with a high quality rod you can't fish with junk anymore.

Now I KNOW you're not suggesting that Pro Angler & Bonehead rod's are JUNK!?!?

Haha must not be junk me and Ed are selling a lot of them!! Have not had one complaint. Just because we can keep our prices lower them all the big shots dont mean they area cheap rod. I will put a pro angler rod and a bonehead tackle rod up against any rod out there.

Thanks for all the advise guys...I fish Dobyns with my bait cast and was hoping they had something but to no avail. Looks like I'm going to have to try a couple of different ones and see what fits me best. Really interested in the Bonehead line...
Thanks again!
