thanks for the video. those minnows you were seeing were " creek chubs" theres tons of them down there. they can get pretty dern big for minnows. make pretty good bait too, I fish down there and use creek chubs pretty often, ive had em stay live on a hook for up to 3 days on set lines. yess, it is very grown up and nasty. I wish they would release more. their only letting out just a tiny little bit in the mornings best I can tell. not near enough to flush it all clean. oh well

I think it would have been a very different story with a little more time and the right fly  Next trip up the Brazos will be to fish more and taxi less...
