Havent posted a report in awhile so here goes. Had Brian from www.lilypadjigs.com his son and my son out for the afternoon. Boys started to catch up with us at the end of the day. Fished jigs only, no minnows. Color didnt seem to matter but depth did. As long as the bottom depth was 15' or deeper fish were there. All fish were caught off brush. We did try some timber but not much luck. 63 fish total for the day with a total of 31 keepers. Half of the keepers were 12" or bigger. Biggest of the day was just under 14" Been hearing of other fisherman pulling limits out with some bigguns thrown in. Now is hero time some come out and get ya some.

Good looking boys and fish. smile

Were you fishing the Lynn Creek side of the lake or the Cedar Hill side?

What depth did you find the fish? I know you said the bottom had to be 15' or deeper but what level were the fish suspended?

Both arms of the lake. Brushpiles had to be in 15' of water or deeper. Fished two piles at 15' with brush toping out at 7' fish all over the piles. Fished two deeper piles at 25' with the fish at the highest point of the piles at 15' Hope this helps ya.

Thank you.

I fished this afternoon but I was fishing structure on the Cedar Hill side at 10'-12'. Some brush, some drop offs.

I could see fish at 6'-8' but my wife mainly caught lmb and catfish. The catfish came when my wife would first drop her minnow to the bottom, before she started her retrieve up.

I was using a jig plus some soft plastic lures I was given but only caught a few small crappie. Small enough I did not need to measure them to see if I could keep them. frown

So we were not deep enough.

Plus the late start might have hurt us. I had to clear up a problem with the insurance for my boat and did not get out until almost 2:00.

But anytime on the water is better than watching T.V. and we did catch fish, just not the crappie we wanted.
