I mainly fish the timber for crappie in the summer. I won't go if its cloudy because I have had too many bad trips. I think the crappie are less likely to stack up in the timber on cloudy days. I guess they don't need the camoflauge of the shade so they are scattered about rather than hunkering down in the shade. Do any of ya'll have the same belief? they do have a tendency to roam more on overcast days its like an extension of the nocturnal foray after the bait i personally think sunlight puts crappie at a disadvantage because of visibility , they are ambush predators with big old owl yes for nocturnal feeding , so much like the owl in the tree in the daylight they seek cover when they are at a disadvantage due to high visibility sunlit conditions , this is my 2 cents on it

Sounds like least a quarter's worth to me. WELL PUT From what I'm reading, you'd need to locate the bait fish during those overcast rainy days or maybe try your night fishing spots, they may still be there
