Well I found some old cast net weights I had saved and zipped tied them to every other weight on my good net. Boy is she heavier, now I wonder if it will spread correctly. We'll see...

I had a net that I doubled the weight on. It pancaked perfect with the extra weight. It also wore me out and when I shredded it on the Jetty at Port A I swore I'd never do it again lol. How much hand line are you adding to the net?

More than the depth you're throwing plus a little extra for the boat drifting.

Looks good Rick. I add 20 ft of line normally, but in the winter I will add 40 ft of rope so you end up with 65 ft total. Like Bob said, you have to account for the boat drifting.

Your shoulders are going to love you for this. rolfmao

I thought of doing the same thing with one of my nets. I was just going to tie them on with fishing line. Zip ties are a much better idea though.

Yea I know they would hurt as it is so I gotta try to find em thick so I only throw once or twice. I started tying them with twine then I said... zip ties! Easier n quicker!

Spin the locks on the zip ties to the inside of your weights before you throw it. Should work good!
