I'm a bank beater, docks and rocks guy....

Trying to figure out the whole c-rig thing as I need another tool in the boat

I've read articles, watched lots of youtube clips on rigging and technique... have thrown it on occasion when others in my boat are doing the same and catching... but zero'd

Any pointers for a c-rig newbie ?

I'll fish it in any dept water but especially when I'm fishing deep (20+). Try using different length leader's and different size lures. I'll throw Zoom mini lizards with 2/0 hooks, up to 10 inch worms with 5/0 hooks. Use as lite a weight as you can get away with while still feeling the bottom. I prefer a 3/4 - 1 oz sinker on a 7ft heavy action Falcon. Hope that helps

Go out one day with only a c rig onboard and hit areas you have confidence in. Put a fluke on the business end with a 3/0 hook. I bet you wont zero. Dont worry about depth, you can throw it up on the bank and drag it in.

If I'm on the water I'm gonna throw a c-rig. As far as baits go a tornado, a fluke, or a baby brush hog will be the first baits I throw.

Good luck and safe fishin'!!!!

When fishing a point; after working the point with all the other techniques I uses, I will pick up the C-Rig and drift with the wind off the point to deep water. Then go to the next point.

Ill throw it when satan gets ice water. I hate the ball and chain. Absolutely hate it. I do not disagree, it does catch fish, but for me it's not something I throw often. Rather throw other techniques

just throw that super fluke and hold on.. vary the speeds you are moving the bait, but that bait should get bit pretty well anywhere and anytime.
