the boy had Monday off from school and the boat not ready, we went bank fishiing at fort anahuac. we got there around 1pm and by the time the tide turned back out, we had 12" plus sand trout, good size croaker and whiting which one was almost 12" long. the boy was a little rusty but the fish were hitting weird. we had a little flounder flipping out of the water in front us and we throw every thing we had but couldn't get him to bite. the boy did catch his share and we both had fun. the pictures only show the sandtrout and we had at least 12 more smaller croaker and whiting.

I was going to go the other day, but wondered if the park was closed. this was not the anahuac refugee/national park and true it was closed anyway. anahuac fort is where they do the gatorfest if that helps. it is just on the other side of town going towards the hospital. i was wondering the same thing when we were heading there but it was open and the lights on the pier came on after dark. the park is free and no worker to check you in.
