First person I've seen that throws a net exactly like I do.
Catch and release into the grease!

That dude has "become ONE with the net". That's a fast sinking ,deep water, heavily weighted net.

Going thru 12 nets a year is crazy! I just ordered a replacement for a net I've been using for 2 years, but I don't use it in creeks either.

Christian and I go thru 3or4 a year. We get ours from Acadamy. We do have a better 7 footer that was pretty expensive and tough as nails.1 rip in 2 yrs of service.

Capt Jeff in the vid is a "card" to say the least. They got lots of sharp stuff in the water in Florida.

Bait is easy. Nets are not. He is right. Cant be afaid to throw it. I go thru 10 to 15 nets a year. but I get bait. Cant wait til winter.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Just gave this method a shot out on the yard. 1st throw, nailed it. Not sure I like it any better than the way I normally throw, but will give it a shot on the boat next time and see if I stay any drier.

I have been throwing a net like that for about 40 years. Learned it from a commercial fisherman who was catching mullet at Fish Pass jetties on Mustang island.
I have taught quite a few people how to throw like that.

That's the way I throw. You can "choke up" on a large net. Couple of tips he did not mention though, you need to keep your right arm straight, and concentrate on a spinning motion and not try to throw too hard.
