Went to lake Arlington on south side under I-20. Got skunked. Was using chicken liver and bacon in stockings for the first time and seems like all I did was feed turtles. Went last week and used lave and cut bluegill and caught 2. Am I doing something wrong?

Need to find another spot to fish. If the fish aren't there then you are fishing in a desert. That is the tough part of bank fishing. Try to find a spot that has water running into the lake.

I think lack of shad is the problem.

Bait a run. This is what the Carp/buffalo guys do. It works for cats. Get a 50lb sack of high protein range cubes (cattle feed) must be over 25% protein or it will float. Find a good bank shallow near deep and not much used and throw out 2 handfulls 2 times per week. If you create this on common area you will just make the fishing better for everyone else. Do this for several weeks and you will establish a pattern. Then fish over your area with all of the things you listed, you can try worms, cut bait. You will consistantly catch catfish. Don't over feed with the range cubes just 1-2 handfuls. They will smell this and then take your baits which are prefferable. GL let us know how it works.
